Ch. 11 Descriptive and Reflective Writing summary

In this chapter the author gives a formula for success in the area of descriptive and reflective writing. The keys for success are listed as follows: Recall precise details, describe those details using your senses to make your writing memorable. Next you should probe the topic; you can achieve this by asking “so-why questions” in your writing. Finally you should reveal what you find. Try not to leave out details and make your writing vague. Personal stories such as events one has been through or decisions one has made about his or her life or things in their life some topics that are always good to consider. Writing reflectively requires a writer to open themselves up through their writing to their readers. You have to be clear and honest with your readers.
